Read our latest Quarterly Report
We are excited to share our progress and report on our activity for the first quarter of Fiscal Year 2027 (July – September 2026).
SBGP is grateful for the opportunity to serve South Baltimore communities with integrity, transparency, and commitment. Over the past quarter, we have continued strengthening our operations and investing in the future of our neighborhoods.
This past quarter, South Baltimore Gateway Partnership:
- Began recruiting for three Senior Manager positions, Public Spaces & Parks, Grants & Contracts Manager, and Public Spaces & Waterfront, to expand SBGP’s capacity to manage complex capital projects, oversee grants and contract administration, advance community-centered public space improvements, and support more than $80 million in restoration and transformational projects.
- Launched anniversary celebration efforts through the SoWeBo Gateway 5K, a partnership with the Southwest Sports and Fitness Alliance (SSFA). The event celebrated SBGP’s 10-year anniversary and Southwest Sports and Fitness Alliance’s 15th anniversary, recognizing mutual longstanding commitment to youth sports, fitness, and community wellness in South Baltimore.
- Continued developing the new SBGP website, expected to launch in the next quarter.
- Planned to take additional steps in the coming quarters to further establish the South Baltimore Gateway Foundation, a new affiliated nonprofit organization designed to serve as a fundraising vehicle to diversify revenue streams.
- Implemented a new CRM (Customer Relations Management) software that was used to manage the Community Grant program application process for the summer cycle and is preparing for additional integrations across organization-wide systems.
- Opened a Board of Directors nomination and review process to fill one open board seat to begin service in January 2027.
To date, SBGP has committed approximately $57.6 million of core intergovernmental Local Impact Grant funds to projects across the District, ranging from small community grants to large capital projects. An additional $1.6 million of projects were in development for a total mobilization of approximately $59.2 million. Reflecting SBGP’s commitment to an equitable model of investing, approximately 78 percent of core program funding to date has been invested in low-income communities and communities of color within the District.
