Read our latest Quarterly Report

We are excited to share our progress and report on our activity during the third quarter of Fiscal Year 2024 (January – March 2024).

Continuing with another strong quarter, SBGP is proud and grateful for the ability to consistently continue to serve the community. While upholding core values and high standards of practices, SBGP has worked closely with neighborhood leaders, City agencies, and other partners to channel funds into important and necessary community programs and projects within the District.

This quarter, SBGP:

  • Kicked off the Winter 2024 Community Grants cycle, started planning for the Summer 2024 cycle, and continued providing “Keys to Capacity” professional development roundtables and workshops.
  • Celebrated the first winter activation in Middle Branch Park with a pop-up ice-skating event hosted by the Youth Resiliency Initiative (YRI) in partnership with Reimagine Middle Branch.
  • Received a formal citation celebrating its work and was recognized on the floor of the Maryland House of Delegates in Annapolis for its outstanding service to the City of Baltimore and State of Maryland.
  • Made progress on the renovation of the Carroll Park Recreation Center, which is scheduled to be complete in July 2024, and continued to support youth sports programming for hundreds of children in South Baltimore.
  • Continued design and permitting work for the Middle Branch Resiliency Initiative (MBRI), which will enhance South Baltimore’s resilience and protect critical infrastructure from coastal flooding, intense storm events, erosion, and sea level rise through wetland restoration.
  • Received the first two funding applications for review for the Community Development Fund, which launched in the previous quarter. SBGP expects to make its first funding award announcement in the next quarter.
  • Was awarded $200,000 in grant funding from the State of Maryland to pass along to reopen a grocery store for the community in the Mount Clare Junction Shopping Center.
  • Developed its proposed FY25 Financial Plan (budget) which will be finalized and submitted to the Board of Estimates during the next quarter.
