We are excited to share our progress and report on our activity during the final quarter of Fiscal Year 2025 (April- June 2025).

Continuing our momentum in 2025, SBGP is proud and grateful for the opportunity to serve South Baltimore communities with integrity, transparency, and commitment. Over the past quarter, we have continued strengthening our operations and investing in the future of our neighborhoods.

This quarter, SBGP:

  • Completed hiring for a Communications and Outreach Manager and began planning to advertise for an additional position in the upcoming quarter.
  • Approved the appointment of one new Board member to fill a vacancy on the Board and began planning and outreach for its next Board application cycle, closing on August 15, 2025, for three new Board members to begin serving effective January 1, 2026.
  • Completed the scoping and contracting process for its comprehensive website redevelopment project to replace its current site with a new website with accessibility integration. SBGP anticipates proceeding with the design and implementation phases of the project during the upcoming quarters.
  • Continued exploring strategies for managing uncertainty related to federal funding as well as strategies for mitigating and managing risk and developing new funding streams.
  • Began the process of establishing an affiliated 501(c)3 organization, as was originally contemplated in its establishing ordinance.
  • Began planning for its FY25 audit.
  • Adopted its FY26 Financial Plan and submitted it to SBGP’s assigned liaison in the Department of Planning for submission to the Board of Estimates.

To date, SBGP has committed approximately $45 million of core Local Impact Grant funds to projects across the District, ranging from small community grants to large capital projects. An additional $4.7 million of projects were in development, bringing total mobilization to approximately $49.7 million. Approximately 76 percent of core program funding has been invested in low-income communities and communities of color, reflecting SBGP’s continued commitment to equitable investing.
