Read our latest Quarterly Report
We are excited to share our progress and report on our activity during the final quarter of Fiscal Year 2023 (April – June 2023).
Continuing with another strong quarter, SBGP is proud and grateful for the ability to consistently continue to serve the community. While upholding core values and high standards of practices, SBGP has worked closely with neighborhood leaders, City agencies, and other partners to channel funds into important and necessary community programs and projects within the District.
This quarter, SBGP:
- Announced $742,708 in funding for the Winter 2023 grant cycle for 29 projects across the District, kicked off the Summer 2023 grant cycle, and held Community Grant Support Sessions as well as the free professional development workshop series, “Keys to Capacity.”
- Completed design work for the renovation and reopening of the Carroll Park Recreation Center with MCN Build and JRS Architects; the renovation is expected to begin later this summer and be completed in early 2024.
- Funded the restoration of the Riverside Park Gazebo in partnership with Baltimore City Recreation and Parks (BCRP) and the Commission for Historical and Architectural Preservation (CHAP).
- Progressed with design and permitting for the first two wetland restorations as part of the Middle Branch Resiliency Initiative (MBRI), a nationally significant project to restore wetlands, improve water quality, and enhance resiliency along the Middle Branch of the Patapsco River. Construction permits and a groundbreaking ceremony for the first wetland restoration are being planned for the fall.
- Worked to develop the Community Development Fund’s strategy and procedures and finalize an RFP seeking a contractor to provide underwriting capacity and overall fund process management. SBGP expects to formally announce this new program in the coming quarters.
