Community Grants
We believe nobody understands what a community needs better than its residents and the people already at work there. That’s why we offer Community Grants to community groups, nonprofits, schools, faith-based organizations, and other neighborhood anchors.
Grants come in four levels:
- Spark – Up to $2,000
- Small – Up to $5,000
- Medium – Below $50,000
- Large – Up to $100,000
Enhanced Services
We have made a major commitment to parks and public spaces. And we have set a high goal: to have the best parks in Baltimore because our neighborhoods deserve them.
To improve quality of life in our communities, we provide Enhanced Services – capital, maintenance, and programming investments in parks and public spaces – above and beyond baseline City services. Our Enhanced Services are making our neighborhoods noticeably more livable by addressing many of the specific outcomes called for in our Strategic Plan.
Transformational Projects
Driving positive change requires bold vision – the imagination to see big opportunities and the resources to make them a reality. We call these opportunities Transformational Projects.
Transformational Projects are not just expensive, they are catalytic, with the power to change the trajectory of our entire District. But dreams this big also require a partner with the resources to help make them happen.
That’s where SBGP comes in. We have the vision to see opportunity, and the strong partnerships to ensure that our neighborhoods are at the table from the very beginning. We have the resources to mobilize a major effort, and the patience to help it grow over time.
It is our duty to find these opportunities, to nurture them, and to build the coalitions needed to make them a reality. We are here to be a catalyst for change.
Community Development Fund
This program is for nonprofit organizations seeking funding for community-driven real estate projects under the South Baltimore Gateway Partnership’s Community Development Fund (CDF). This is a separate program from the SBGP Community Grants Program, with different rules and timing. The CDF accepts applications on a rolling basis but will not review applications for anything other than community-driven real estate projects.
