Historic Sharp-Leadenhall Banner Celebration

Community

SBGP was honored to celebrate the installation of new banners highlighting the neighborhood of Sharp-Leadenhall, featuring significant individuals with ties to the important history of the community, including Black leaders like Elijah Cummings, Harriet Tubman, Frederick Douglass, and Thurgood Marshall. The endeavor to clearly illuminate the bounds of the neighborhood were led by Historic Sharp-Leadenhall and many community members. The Neighborhood Design Center designed the banners, which were printed and installed by F.W. Haxel and installed by Baltimore City’s Department of Transportation. The banner project was funded by SBGP’s Enhanced Services program.
